Day 62 – Wednesday 17 August 2016 – Mackay - Rockhampton

Up early this morning in an effort to get on the road early with over 300kms to travel to Rockhampton.  Thankfully the rain held off while we got the last minute things done after dodging the rain and wind last night.

The trip to Rocky is pretty boring and the terrain scrubby and flat in places but quite mountainous in other parts.  There are some really pretty landscapes but unfortunately the haze just didn't assist with photos.  Still barely a glimpse of the ocean which is so disappointing as I had hoped to spend a bit of coastal time before heading home.

The crocodile warnings continued to be displayed at the edges of creeks and rivers - we'll miss those "crocmadile" warnings - but those Queenslanders sure do love their Crocs!

I was too tired and over driving to go sightseeing in Rocky so Shane took a drive while I tidied up the van and called home.

It's hard to believe we are still over 2,000kms from home and have less than 2 weeks left of our trip.  The next 10 days are going to be a bit of a blur as we make our way back to reality.
