Day 56 – Thursday 11 August 2016 – Townsville

Time to bath Kitty again today as she had started to matt thanks to the dampness despite our best efforts to keep her dry.  It was fairly quick as we've really refined the whole process along the way.  That and lunch out of the way we took a bit of a drive around Townsville.  To be honest I didn't find a whole bunch to photograph and we were both quite surprised that a seaside city didn't really appear to be seaside.  The port takes up a lot of that ocean frontage, although in fairness we really didn't make it north of the city.  We really quite liked Townsville though, it has everything you could possibly want but without the big city rush.  Peak hour wasn't a nightmare and the city itself was pleasant enough to drive around.

Back at camp we made the most of the opportunity to photograph a really pretty sunset before heading back to Shane's brother's home to say HI and Goodbye.  It was there I saw my first Gecko before he scurried away - those things can move - FAST!  And on the way back to camp I amused myself by taking some photos of the freeway.
