Day 60 – Monday 15 August 2016 – Mackay

It was obviously the anticipation of the outcome of the car but I don't think either of us slept that well.  A phone call to a local Nissan dealer confirmed they would be able to take a look at it today which was a relief in itself.  So a couple more phone calls and we had an RACQ pickup arrive around 9.30am.

After having to tell these two to shut up every time someone has approached the car since we left 2 months ago - now finally someone IS ACTUALLY STEALING THE CAR - and one is scratching and chewing it's feet while the other lounges around in a dog bed.  REALLY - some guard dogs you two turned out to be!

There is something quite sad about your car being trucked away!

Hours went by and we filled the day with bathing dogs in readiness for what must now be a much reduced trip home and then reading and relaxing.   But the weather started to turn sour and down came the rain.

Late afternoon we received a call from the repairers saying they couldn't find the issue and wondered if one of the technicians could take it home overnight to try and see if he could figure out what it was.  Hey - whatever it takes to get back on the road at this point!

So carless for another night and it was probably no loss as the wind howled and it poured rain most of the night.  We are just keeping our fingers crossed that the issue is resolved and without breaking the bank!
