Day 61 – Tuesday 16 August 2016 – Mackay

After a pretty sleepless night we finally got a call from the repairers at bout 9.30am to say they thought it was the clutch and it would need replacing.  Given we already replaced the clutch in this car about 18 months ago I wasn't keen to hear we'd be up for another $3,000 so I suggested they look elsewhere.  Further conversation with the service manager and we were onto something when I mentioned the issues we had the week before with the battery in the van almost catching fire thanks to the unbelieveably stupid  technician connecting it up the wrong way.  

Everyone was very stressed about the situation.............

Good - I didn't think so........

It was mid afternoon before we heard back from them, but the car was fixed after finding melted wiring which was replaced.  The good news was the car was working - the bad news was it was going to cost us just under $800.  Bill paid.  Car back.  Time to pack and get ready to hit the road.  

Lets just say Mackay has really been a memorable stay.
